TASHKENT. From September 22 to 25, 2026, the capital of Uzbekistan hosted ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026, the international information and communication technology week, which brought together representatives of government agencies, leading technology companies, investors and experts in digital transformation.
The event took place at the Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan (CAEx) exhibition complex with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the event organizers, it brought together representatives of 51 countries, more than 300 exhibitors and around 200 speakers and experts. Discussions focused on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Big Data, cybersecurity, digital public services and the development of technology entrepreneurship.
From digital services to data-driven governance
One of the key areas of the business program was the digital transformation of public administration.
The Digital State forum discussed modern approaches to developing government information systems, integrating digital services, using artificial intelligence and building a single environment for interaction between the state, business and citizens.
Particular attention was paid to the transition from fragmented information solutions to integrated digital platforms that allow data to be processed centrally, processes to be automated and management decisions to become more effective.
Technology solutions in cloud infrastructure, business analytics, information security and automation were also presented at the ICT Expo 2026 exhibition.
Kazakh specialists studied the experience of digital regulation
Representatives of the Kazakhstan-based Gambling Monitoring and Analysis Center LLP took part in ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026.
During the visit, particular attention was paid to Uzbekistan’s experience in digitalizing state oversight of bookmaking.
In the Republic of Uzbekistan, this sector is regulated by the National Agency of Perspective Projects (NAPP). One of the tools of digital supervision is the Unified State Register of Players and Bets (EGRIS) information system.
The system provides for centralized recording of players, bets and financial transactions, identification of participants, application of established restrictions and information exchange with bookmaking organizers.
Also of practical interest is the experience of UZINFOCOM, which is involved in creating and providing technical support for EGRIS, including ensuring information security and compliance with international payment data protection standards.
Studying such solutions is relevant for Kazakhstan in the context of developing the analytical component of the Unified Accounting System (UAS), designed to consolidate data, generate analytical reports and support management decision-making.
Regional cooperation in digitalization
ICT Week Uzbekistan has been held annually since 2004 and is one of the largest technology platforms in the region.
The event demonstrates the growing role of Central Asia in the development of digital technologies and creates opportunities to share practical experience between government bodies, technology companies and industry experts.
For Kazakhstan, participation in such international events opens up additional opportunities to study advanced technology solutions and apply successful digitalization practices in various areas of public administration.
